Green Architecture course explores the principles, practices of environmentally responsive architectural design. Through this course, students will gain an understanding of how to integrate climate analysis and bioclimatic principles to design buildings that are energy-efficient, comfortable, and environmentally responsible in Algeria.

Target Audience:

Students in Architecture who have reached Master 1 level.

Objectives 

By the end of the course, students will be able to design bioclimatic architectural solutions informed by comprehensive climate analysis and principles of bioclimatic architecture.

Students will be able to : 

  • Conduct climate analysis using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Identify and evaluate climatic factors such as temperature, humidity, wind patterns, and solar radiation in architectural design.
  • Apply principles of bioclimatic architecture to optimize building performance and occupant comfort.
  • Integrate passive design strategies such as natural ventilation, daylighting, and thermal mass into architectural designs.
  • Critically analyze case studies of sustainable architectural projects to extract best practices and lessons learned.
